Fold Your Laundry, Fix Your Life (Sort Of)

This morning, my house was a mess.
There was a mountain of laundry staring at me… and a mountain of work right behind it.
My brain said: “Be productive. Tackle the to-do list. Get ahead.”
But my nervous system said: “Girl, fold the leggings.”
So I did. And somehow, that one small act of order made everything else feel a little more manageable.
Sure, I could’ve jumped straight into the chaos. Checked a box. Told myself, You’re being productive.
But instead?
I folded my laundry.
And I put it away.
Cue the confetti, because honestly? That felt like a win.
Here’s the thing: Sometimes the best thing you can do for your work life is something tiny for your non-work life.
Because order—even in one corner of your day—can create momentum. When you feel like everything is out of place, taking five minutes to fix one thing can calm your nervous system. Give you clarity. Remind you that you’re not buried, you’re just busy—and still in control.
I’m not saying folding your laundry will change your life. But I am saying it might change your Monday morning. Or your mood. Or your ability to breathe a little deeper before you tackle the rest of your list.
So if you’re staring down a mountain of tasks and not sure where to start?
Maybe start with the socks.
