Redefining “Enough" > What Leaving Corporate Taught Me About Success

For most of my corporate career, I had no real concept of “enough.” There was always someone making more, doing more, achieving more.

A new title. A higher salary. A bigger stage.

You’re constantly surrounded by signals that say: more is the goal.

And after a while, you start to believe it.

But working for myself changed everything.

When You’re the Safety Net, “Enough” Hits Different

Leaving corporate America meant walking away from structure, status, and a lot of external validation. It also meant stepping into uncertainty, and with that came a hard reset on what success actually looks like.

When you’re running your own business, “enough” becomes crystal clear. Not just financially, but mentally and emotionally too.

Some days, enough is simply covering your costs. Other days, it’s having space to think, breathe, create without the pressure of constant output. And sometimes? It’s being able to walk your dog at 10am without explaining it to anyone.

The corporate world thrives on comparison. But, entrepreneurship taught me that I don’t need to be in constant competition, especially not with myself. I need clarity, sustainability, and ownership over how I spend my time.

If You’re Redefining Success Too…

If you’re in a season of transition, questioning the grind, or simply craving more intentionality in your work and life—pause and ask yourself:

What does enough look like for me?

It might be less than you think. But it might give you more than you imagined.
